Ponooc acquires stake in the Tranzer mobility platform Ponooc has acquired a significant stake in Tranzer. The scale-up that was established three years ago offers travelers the possibility to plan, book and pay for traveling by public transport, taxi and bicycle with one clear app. In Europe there are more than 100,000 users of the app. The Ponooc investment contributes to Tranzer’s ambition to become the European market leader in Mobility as a Service (MaaS). Tranzer was born out of the idea of making traveling by public transport, taxi, bicycle or shared car more accessible for occasional travelers, such as people who do not have an OV chip card or have no experience with traveling in the country where they are at that moment. The scale-up now also serves parties who, with the use of Tranzer, make a flexible way of traveling possible for their users like KLM, WeChat, WeGoEuro en TravelCard. Paul Rooijmans of Tranzer: “Travelers find it increasingly important to have a flexible choice when it comes to the type of transport. To meet that need, partners such as leasing companies, providers of fuel cards and event organizations can integrate our services with their own systems, giving their users access to all public transport, including taxis, bicycles and shared cars. Since this year, Tranzer has been selected for the MasterCard Startpath Program that will certainly help us to roll out planning and paying worldwide in public transport.” Trust in Mobility as a Service In order to continue to meet the mobility needs of travelers and employers, Tranzer is constantly evolving. Thanks to Ponooc’s investment, the platform can scale up faster so that more countries and cities can connect. Paul Rooijmans of Tranzer: “We are very happy with the confidence that Ponooc has in us. Ponooc maintains close ties with Pon Holdings, an international innovative player in the field of mobility with many years of service. We expect a lot of synergy with Pon and we look forward to a good collaboration.” Friso Bensdorp of Ponooc: “We believe in the future of Mobility as a Service (MaaS); planning, booking and paying for different types of transport within an app. Tranzer has proven itself as a forerunner in this. It is an ambitious party with a clear vision and a great deal of knowledge in the field of public transport and mobility. We think it is important that Tranzer can realize its growth ambitions. We would like to be part of this.” About Tranzer Tranzer is a Dutch scale-up, founded in 2017 by Sanneke Mulderink and Paul Rooijmans.
