Ponooc invests in Eco-Movement; the leading platform for EV charging stations data Eco–Movement, the leading platform for electric vehicle (EV) charging station data, announced the close of its Series A funding round. Leading investors in this funding round were Ponooc, a venture capital fund based in the Netherlands with a focus on sustainable energy and mobility, and Dow Jones, a global provider of news and business information. Existing shareholders Bridford Group and Arches Capital—an early-stage investor—also participated. As an independent B2B data platform, Eco-Movement provides charge point location and pricing information to navigation providers, online maps and fleet operators. Through their clients—which include leading global market players like Tesla, TomTom, Apple and HERE—millions of EV drivers benefit from Eco-Movement’s data services for an optimal navigation and charging experience. Forecasts predict that by 2027, there will be nearly three million public charge points worldwide. Although their availability is growing, it’s hard to find accurate and complete data on charging stations. Eco-Movement helps solve this challenge by working together with charge point operators to aggregate their data, including price and real-time availability, into a uniform, accurate and complete database. Eco-Movement will use the funds to accelerate global expansion, expand its network of partners and further develop its industry-leading data product. Roderick van den Berg, CEO of Eco-Movement, said, “We acknowledge that the relevance of our data is increasing every day. With the support of both Ponooc and Dow Jones, we will further improve our product to help charge point operators with their visibility on mobile and in-car maps and support the EV industry with the best data possible.” Friso Bensdorp, investment director at Ponooc, said, “We have been following Eco-Movement for the last few years and are impressed with the progress the company has made over this period. Eco-Movement has become the trusted source of charge point data in Europe and is ready to expand to other markets. We look forward to supporting Roderick and his team in the next growth phase.” About Eco-Movement Based in the Netherlands, Eco-Movement is the leading platform for data on electric vehicle charging stations.
