Strategic Partnership Enercon – Lagerwey

The Dutch windmill manufacturer Lagerwey is being taken over by the German windturbine manufacturer Enercon. Both companies announced on thursday night that Enercon is opting for a strategic partnership with the company from Barneveld.

Earlier this year Lagerwey installed the highest windmill in the Nertherlands, in the Eemshaven. The windmill has a tower of 130 m in height and a peak height of almost 200 m.

In a clarification to the announcement CEO Huib Morelisse of Lagerwey said that the takeover consists of 100% of the shares. Lagerwey will continue to operate as an independent company under the wing of the German corporate, with its own brand and organisation, however it will be able to profit from the scale of Enercon in such fields as purchasing, production, and their worldwide sales network. “With Enercon we will get a financially strong and solid holding company”, says Morelisse.
